A Review of Pregnancy Outcomes of Novel Coronavirus Infection during Pregnancy

Abstract

Abstract: Viral pneumonia is one of the common human diseases worldwide, and acute respiratory diseases caused by the outbreak of novel coronavirus in recent years seriously threaten human health. The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), which broke out in Wuhan, China since December 2019, once again attracts high attention, having been identified by WHO as an Public Health Emergency of International Concern. Seven coronaviruses have been found to infect humans, of which four are more common in the population and less pathogenic. The other three are caused by SARS-CoV (2002), MERS-CoV (2012) and SARS-CoV-2 (2019), symptoms of the diseases are severe. As a special susceptible population, once pregnant women suffer from pregnancy complicated with novel coronavirus pneumonia, it will theoretically affect the mother and fetus. However, at present, domestic and foreign studies on this aspect are limited. Therefore, in order to minimize the adverse consequences on the mother and fetus, it is necessary to strengthen the research on this aspect. This article reviews and analyzes the effects of novel coronavirus on different pregnancy states in first, second and third trimester through the pregnancy outcomes of pregnant women with SARS, MERS, and COVID-19 to provide guidance for the supervision and management of other related novel coronavirus infected pregnant women in the future, and provide a clinical basis for reducing maternal and fetal mortality and doing prevention work .
