Abstract
Neural Stem Cell(NSC)is the source of new cells in the brain, periodically dividing in two important regions of the brain:the ventricles and the hippocampus. When the central nervous system(CNS)is damaged, the damaged neurons release a large number of factors into the extracellular microenvironment and prevent neurogenesis, resulting in decreased proliferation of neural stem cells. Lowlevel laser treatment(LLLT), as a new physical therapy without damage, can regulate various biological functions of the body and provide a potential treatment for NSC proliferation. Our study found that LLLT can promote the proliferation of neural stem cells in the hippocampus of mice, and prompt NSC to differentiate into new neurons. Altogether,we show that LLLT can be a new treatment for neurogenesis. Moreover, we provide theory foundation for the clinical application of LLLT in Alzheimer’s disease.
