Abstract:Taking the 2 millet varieties of “Nongda 8” and “Changgu 1” as experimental materials and they were centrifuged at 3 000 r/min, 5 000 r/min and 7 000 r/min for 30 min and 60 min respectively. The effects of Hypergravity treatment on germination index and germination activity of millet seeds, and the content of malondialdehyde, peroxidase and superoxide dismutase activity during the germination period were studied. The results showed that the mediumlowspeed centrifugation could promote seed germination, root length and fresh quality, and the length of shoots decreased in each treatment; The contents of malondialdehyde (MDA) in each treatment group of both varieties were lower than that of the control and reached the minimum at 7 000 r/min, 30 min; In addition to the slight decrease in POD activity of Changgu 1 under 3 000 r/min, 60 min treatment, the activities of POD in each treatment group of both varieties were higher than that of the control, and the POD activity of Changgu 1 reached the maximum at 5 000 r/min, 30 min, the POD activity of Nongda 8 reached the maximum at a treatment time of 60 min and rotation speed of 3 000 r/min and 5 000 r/min; The SOD activity of the two varieties was higher than that of the control and reached maximum at medium and high speeds (5 000 r/min and 7 000 r/min). Highgravity treatment can improve the stress resistance of millet in the germination period, and it is appropriate to use 5 000 r/min treatment time of 30 min and 60 min.
